We are going to growing one Squash this season and was wondering what seed stock throws true thick green squash. I have plenty of pale orange, and 50/50 "chance of" seeds. I told Momma I would find her a greenie to grow and she is a really nice woman. Anyway all input would be gladly accepted.

Gerry Do you have any 895.5 Hesters or 703 Smith* ?? these have proven to be 100% green and the shape and true color we are looking for ?? these are the only 100% green producers I know of !! Good Luck !!! Kevin

Keven, I think you sent me a 703 a year or so ago! I wasn't sure if it was a squash or Squmpkin. I will rummage through my frozen seed collection to verify. Can you let me know what the cross on the 703 was? Oh, I know I don't have a 895.5 Hester (dang it). I guess this brings up a good point, I should write down all of the seeds in my library...

There are many squash seeds that grow green fruit exclusively. They are just not famous or popularized.771stellpflug, 512 stellpflug, 218,220 andrews, were available here I believe. Pretty much any green x green producer wiill work. You need not only grow the most common seeds.....G

The male 895* for the 552* was the 856* Hester I believe. I have a picture of the 856* if you want. Jim probably has one of his 552*. Ben

Ben, were you snooping again? Yes, all the 895's threw green. The male flowers did come from Brett's garden and both of his also threw green. The 552 was 12.5% heavy
