Hi - I am looking for seeds for the upcoming season. I am not sure I am cut out to grow the largest pumpkin ever as I have tried and failed miserably the past two seasons. I am wondering if anyone has any leftover seeds. I honestly don't need your best seeds, just something better than what is offered commercially. I have been a victim of PM ever year, so if there is a kind that is more resistant to PM, that would be preferred. Thanks is advance!!!

I don't want to appear to be a jerk, but you might want to solve the problem of the powdery mildew first. Hot, humid weather and moisture on the leaves at nightfall are prime conditions for PM.

I actually believe I have as much as possible. I have switched garden locations and am watering with a soaker hose. It was much better last year but ended up getting it in the end due to neglect because of ankle surgery. Plus, it was a very bad summer is WI last year. Thanks

Three Growing boys, the only way to combat powdery mildew is to have a preventive fungicide program, you have to start spraying mid june and spray every week, you can use chemical fungicides, a milk, water and baking soda mixture or any combination of, but you have to be preventive.
there are no secrets to preventing PM, just good old fashioned preventive sprays, try Immunox (find it at any garden center.

Make sure you aren't watering late in the evening. This seems to really push pm along. i like to see my leaves dry before night comes.

And thanks to you guys who put advice about PM on here. I've made a note of it! I had it last year, and thought it was lime deposit buildup from our hard water until the plants were nearly dead! LOL!

Nothing beats Eagle 20 for preventing PM. Used in rotation with Immunox or other fungicide, you will not have any problems. If you like the pumpkins in my grower diary send me an email for seeds eastparkrider@yahoo.com

you're right by, some of the best gardening store's,
I'd Recommend you stop by ether Jungs, or J-mar's this spring and stock up, ps. J-mar's, has better prices.
