mombert.....any of these out there i can trade for??
i am just tinkering around thinking about how good older genetics are.....but in the same sense....they may not be the same as this day and age of genetic breeding???

John. I understand your motivation and wanting to get as much knowledge as possible, Sometimes we want the world all in one day..This seems to be what you want.You talk before about having to many seeds, you say your gonna throw them away. Now you ask for some old vintage genetics? Its not uncommon for a grower to want every good seed on the planet. My advice to you would be.

1. Get your growers diary set up. This will allow people who read your diary to see what you've done and give you advice based on what you've been doing.
2. Get a soil test! (Without a good test your not following basic guide lines)
3. Get your greenhouses built.
4. Get plans to get a tea brewer built.
5. Get your watering system thought out.
6. Start a compost pile for this year and future years.I'd go a step further and say start a worm composter also.

7. Join a Pumpkin Growers club and become involved.You'll be surprised at how much you'll learn just by observing other top growers.

I understand that your a young man and your maturity level is not that of an adult, Calling people daily and flooding them with e-mails and phone calls is the wrong way to go. I'm just really floored that you haven't planted a pumpkin yet or even had a season under your belt and your asking for such seeds...Get your basic things done first. Get your seeds selected. Seeds that will give you the best possible chance of growing what you want.

Ya North Shore I do. I've learned and have my line up. I've told John these things time and time. If you look at his thread he asked me what I thought and Thats what I have on the subject. Not that I owe you an explination or anything.
