I am planting 4 patches. In my first pumpkin patch I have decided to plant the 376 Desroseiers 2002 x 392.5 Frantz 2002. These are seeds I will be receiving from bigpumpkins.com. They have Stelts, Lloyd, Mombert, Nesbitt, Emmons, Bobier, Mettier, Eaton, Kuhn, and numerous great others in their genetic makeup. What do you think???

I'm just curious. Are you planting 4 plants or 4 patches. If it's 4 patches, how big are each patch?

4 patches and at least 8 plants. The patch size is going to vary. This patch size is around 35x15.

I think that would make a great cross! I may be a little biased though....LOL. I will be asking you for seeds this fall. Have you considered growing the 840 Desrosiers so you can join the contest? Good luck this season! Mike Frantz

I am a newbie and this season will be a great challenge. I know the 840 seeds are harder to find right now. I wouldn't mind joining the contest but the record pumpkin in AZ is 51.5 pounds so I would have to win for the smallest pumpkin or the pumpkin that beat the state record or whatever. So I will take what I can get. I have seeds coming I hope. I really liked the 392.5 Frantz 2002 and the 376 Desroseiers 2002 genetics and thought they would make a genetic match. Thanks,

Thanks for the good luck wishes from all. Some of you really encourage us newbies. All the information I have received has been very helpful. It is welcoming and very appreciated.
Mike if I can find an 840 Desrosiers I will join the contest.
Thanks, Diane
