Paul,
I'm curious about how you determined when to start and end your season there in Texas. I live in a hot climate too but I'm a bit behind this year. I'm on day 24 with my fruit. Did you find that after a certain date your fruit growth drops off and then rolled back your seed starting date accordingly the next year?

I'm interested (lucathoughts@hotmail.com). It will be a huge upgrade from my Lowes AG seed. How are they named? Would these be called 605(Paul's last name)?
Thanks

Luke, yes... 1502Wallace would be the 1502# pkn, grown by Ron Wallace. On the pkg, the seed gets put into, it usually includes the year grown, and sometimes the background genetics (mother & father)(plant & pollinator)! Peace, Wayne PS. Luke, be patient and in the late fall & winter...lots of seeds for the price of a bubblie will be available!!!

Thanks Wayne, you have been a lot of help the past couple months. As a first timer, I had no idea about premium seeds or the nomenclature which is why I have a Lowes patch now.
I just ordered Don Langevin's 2nd book from Amazon and can't wait to read it. My biggest will be pushing 200 pounds soon so I am content with that for the 1st year with a lowes seed and all the help from you guys. Thanks!
Luke

Luke, another thing to look for in the fall & winter, are seed raffles!!! Usually a faily low $ entry fee, will put you in the game for some super seeds, plus a guarantee of good controlled genetic crosses!!! Club memberships, also guarantees you a variety of seeds (usually) as the clubs give out seeds from their members!!! Grow em BIG!!! Peace, Wayne PS...auctions happen on this site also, can get pricey, but some deals are there also!!! Proceeds from auctions go to the club, which is then turned into prize money for next years weigh-off!!! At the very least, they are fun to watch!!!

Thanks Wayne! Is that the GPC club membership you are referring to or the premium membership on this site?

Luke, & Tammy...Luke, no GPC club membership that I know of...GPC is the ruling body, which regulates weigh-off rules, etc!!!GPC fees, are paid for/from a weigh-off site. Premium membership on this site is a small fee, to allow you to post, and ask ?'s on the Premium message board. Tammy, raffles are my fav's...generates funds for groups...fairly cheap...always(usually)LOL controlled genetic seeds...some good, some excellent, some SLUNGERS!!!! Ya send $10 bucks or so, and get who knows how many seeds. Usually some super incredibleilocious are included in the raffle!!! So like any raffle, you pay a small fee, and take yer chances...but here, you always get somethin good!!! Peace, Wayne

Most pumpkin growing clubs have a free seed package that they give to members. For the price of membership in a club or clubs you will get more excellent seeds than you can ever plant.
