Hollo everyone, I know its to late for this year, but I am always looking ahead for next year. I am looking for seeds that come from or have produced nice color and shape, I also am interested trading for any 2000 or proven seeds. Tom

I'd have to say I fall into that category as well. I don't know if a HUGE pumpkin is what I'm after. I think I'd be happy with a big pumpkin that had good color and shape. I've got some Big Max in the ground this year, but next year I'd like to branch out a bit. Let me know what seed to look for and from whom I might get some. All of the seed names are a bit ambiguous for us newbies. Thanks

I suggest you look for any pumpkin with Mombert 567.5,Stelts 801.5 genetics,or any of the Calai pumpkins (including the 846)for a nice round shaped, bright orange pumpkin. These are BEAUTIFUL pumpkins. If you find a nice shaped, orange pumpkin in your area, try to obtain seeds from it, for it seems that pumpkins grown in your area, will also do well for you!

I would have to agree with Kilr. I'm growing the Mombert 867 (2000) this year which is the offspring of both of those plants and it is a beautiful color. Nice dark orange looking like a real pumpkin color. As for shape its fairly long and wide but what else can I ask for a 500 lb pumpkin. It still growing 15 lbs a day.

Last year was my first year of growing Giant pumpkins. I managed to grow a 200 pounder with just great color and shape. It looked just like a Jack o lantern only bigger. If you are interested in any of the seeds let me know and I'll send you some. I posted a picture of it in the gallery under Dave(9)I think.
