Not really sure what an apple gourd looks like but I had A LOT of birdhouse bottle gourds in the garden this year(entry #46 in my diary october bandit). I got the seeds from a local farmers wife and they were super easy to grow and VERY abundant in numbers. Shoot me an email if your interested and I will send some your way free!!

No prob. Luke! I got em hung up in the pole barn now drying out. Anyone else interested in any just send an email. I grew 4 plants this year and they grew like crazy filling in the back half of my garden fence and I got about 20 gourds out of those 4.
