I have growh them a couple of years ago. In my experience they need a longest growing season than the Capsicum anuum hot peppers. If you are inerested, I might have some seeds left.

My local grocerie store sells ghost peppers, is it the same thing if you took the seeds out of them from a grocery store?, a mexican grocery store might sell them.

The plants are originally from Southern India, they grow all year long so you can over winter one in your house.

Although most peppers are grown as annuals, they are actually perennials.

I actually had one pepper plant survive to produce for 3 seasons before loosing it during the winter. There are 3 of them in the house right now.
I really gives them a jump to have an adult root system. An overwintered plant will begin flowering and producing peppers before a seedling or seed start even really gets going.

Eric, how big are you plants indoors? The plant I had this year was huge!! It was easily 5'tall & 4' across & loaded.

I put them in large 10" or larger pots and cut the foliage back so i have a maybe 12" tall plant. I want most of the leaves gone as aphids will attack relentlessly. spraying indoors must be very careful what and how much. so I pot and spray them a few weeks before frosts and cold temps below about 35 or so force them inside. then about a week before come inside i cut them back and let them adjust. All i want is for the thing to live through the winter. Which is challenge enough as they do not make good houseplants.
