Yeah, but those 275's probably have the alcoholic gene. Before JVH perfected turbo juice, they got straight mash or even moonshine.

Extremely over-rated.
The seed is getting way more attention then it shold get. It just got lucky for Mr. Burton when it grew his 1394lber. Since then it hasn't done anything an ordinary AG seed coulden't do.

It deserves the same amount of attention as any ordinary seed. It has been placed in the hands of some top growers and hasn't even broken 1400lbs. Any AG seed can grow as big as 275 with the same care. You'd be just as good growing any other seed, but you don't have to spend $45 to get it!

The only big grower that has planted it that i know of is Andy Wolf and he growed a pretty good one on it. You are correct that there are alot of good seeds out there but i by no means would say its overrated

So JA you have become an expert now? I know you are only 13 or 14 but could you tell us what experiance of the 275 your comments are based on?

Jabc is a good kid. A smart kid. Has twice the brains I did at that age. Ja, just a little advise. If you started off by saying "In my humble opinion"...... You wouldnt catch so much slack. The way you word your comments sometimes comes across as you stating a fact.
Your opinion may be a valid one and is welcomed for debate.

Chris, good of you again to try and difuse a situation where someone ate their foot, however, " in my humble opinion" It just got lucky for Mr. Burton when it grew his 1394lber." is an insult to Mr. Burton. JA,I know several experienced growers who would love to have a 275, are they wrong? You're probably in bed.

White Pumpkin strikes again....

Jordan, looks to me like someone send you a bunch of Van Hook seeds at one time or another.

You even grew your personal best of 330 lbs with the very 275 Van Hook seed that you think so poorly of now.

Don't forget when you post something on the internet that it will be there a long time from now....you forget this?

Gah, you don't understand what I'm trying to get at....

And Glenn, I honestly want to tell you off right now. Things change as you get older. SHUT UP and get over it, stop going after me like I'm your little dog. I'm not kidding, shut up. Your really annoying me.

Yes, John did kindly send me those seeds in 2009. 275 has the same potential as the rest of those seeds. Thats what I'm trying to get at.

Enough said, conversation over.

JA, as a guy with a very strong opinion myself and it was much worse when i was younger' and did not know better.please take the advice of other older people on this.you are harming your self and your reputation.who knows how any seed could do?we only know what they have done in the past and the 275 has performed well.i'm sure your a good kid.take a little time before you act.scott

I.M.O.- #1 seed to grow for an early fair.

Indiana State Fair:
2008- #1,2 (1,114 lbs in August)
2009- #1,4,5 (1,145 lbs in August)

Ohio State Fair:
2010- #2 (942 lbs in August)

Remember these seeds were planted outside in the ground in March/April not May/June.

There were two 275's this year and one last year that experienced spectacular growth curves early on. All three of them were on pace to 1,300+ pounds. These were not grown by the same grower, they were grown by three separate growers in three different locations. Kelly's data really tells the tale. There have been several 275's harvested early that easily would have made 1,000+ if left in the patch. 600 pounds at day 30 is not uncommon for this one.

I heard from a source that Joe Jutras had a 275 on course for a wr the same year he grew his 1689 but it split.
Im not entirely certain though.

Remember, ya can't bite the hand that feeds you. Me being a 33 year old stuck with an 18 year olds mentality, one thing I can advise is when you disagree, keep it respectful. Don't burn bridges... well at least not yet, wait till you're 90 or have the world record.
