Got a pb of 170 with a package seed this year-everyone amazed. Expecting local competition next year, please help with a champion seed! Thanks in advance

Hi Jim, keep checking this seed exchange message board, growers from this year will be giving away seeds for free after they dry, you just have to send them a bubble envelope. You could go to aggc.org click on one of the heavier pumpkins, then click on hieracrchy tree and see what genetics makes the champion pumpkins. Pumpkinlink.com is also a great site. use the site search to look up info on how to grow a giant. Check out peoples diarys on the main menu for insight. Good luck, not growing this year or I would of offered you seeds.

Jimbob, true champion seeds...are prbly quite expensive...true, champion genetic crosses are quite readily available!!! Like Richard said, for the price of a bubbleope!!! (Self Addressed Bubble Envelope)! Keep yer eyes on this board, in the next few weeks, there will prbly be dozens of offers of seeds for the price of a bubblie!!! Sorta thinkin, there have been a few awlready!!! Peace, Wayne

Kootenays

Thanks folks! I'll keep checking, reading and learning. I have gained valuable advice already, as last years was only 62 lbs. Goal for next year is 400. The Kootenays are in the SE corner of British Columbia, Wayne, and my door is always open :)

Jim Bob,
I would suggest going to Hollands Giants and ordering their DVD. http://www.hollandsgiants.com/video.html

They will include seeds with your purchase. The DVD will teach you everything you need to know to grow big.

I was like you. Last year I grew an 80 pounder off a seed from the local farmers supply. This year, using the Hollands Seed and following their techniques, I grew a 441# Pumpkin. And that was growing in only 120 Square feet and without doing a soils test.

Shoot me an email, I'm just north of Calgary, so we're almost neighbors.
I have a seed or 2 I can spare and if you coming up Calgary way I'll give you directions and you can stop by and we can talk pumpkins
