Wondering if you have some.Lots of claims about 3 foot cukes but if you have grown them and have seeds ,I would be interested. Have giant flatpoll cabbage seeds to trade if you wish. Pete

The EGVGA just auctioned off a bunch of near 3 footers on Saturday. But believe me, you really don't want to eat them once they have reach their maximum length (and are therefore already yellow and if pollinated, gut-wrenching bitter). Believe me, I have tried...lol

Wondering about the japanese 3 footers that are slim and stay green, wondering if they are all the same or if one is better than the rest...I'm thinking of the name...nippon....something something. I have seen the seeds at seedsavers.org and thought wow! but then did some homework and see that the same plant/seeds are sold, just a variation of the name. Confusing......

Not all seeds sold as cucumbers are actually cucumbers. The current WR cucumber, for example, is not a member of the cucumber family. The grower got disqualified at the major UK vegetable show and then went behind their backs and got Guinness to believe him.

Like pumpkins and many other giant vegetables, store bought cucumber seeds probably won't grow you 3 footers. The few of us competitive cucumber growers grow lines we have been fostering for many, many years. I personally grow the Alf Cobb line, who grew the true WR a number of years ago. Unfortunately I already shared almost all of my seeds with others, so don't have enough left to hand out. I only grow one or two plants so don't end up with a lot of seeds.

"Telegraph" will be your best bet, but if they are F1 seeds, they won't do much. I tried them and they didn't get longer than 55cm. It does seem that open pollinated "Telegraph" seeds were the beginning of competitive long cucumbers many, many years ago.

for some strange reason, the name "Armenian Yard Long" seems to stick in my head for Long Cukes!!! & sorry, I have no source!!!! Can't remember where I got seeds....have none left, but when I did grow them, they did get close to a Yard Long!!!! Peace, Wayne

armenian cucumber is a variety of muskmelon and not from the cucumber family...so it won't win you any prize unless it is in the muskmelon competition ...or noone knows any better, as mentioned from Dutch Brad.
