I saw the 1028 Gienger in person. That has to be one of the prettiest giant pumpkins of all times. Great symmetrical shape and shiny orange! I spotted it from a long ways off, as we drove up to the event.

Doug, I grew a miniature version of the 1028 two years ago, estimated weight 487 pounds, crossed with a 1432 Northrup. Used a flag pattern, broke and repaired the main vine, and grown in a heavy clay soil. Poor thing.
