Don't expect any help from anyone, including Jim Bryson, if you don't pay up on your winning auction bids.

R.5555, make arrangements to pay for the seeds you won. Spread the payments out over the next 11 months if auction coordinators will allow it, but don't get blacklisted by the AG growing community.

You should pay for the seeds you won, or you should find a new hobby.

Comming from a police officer in PA. This would also fall within Theft by deception. Offense Defined. Creates or reinforces a false impression, including false impressions as to law, value, intention or other state of mind; but deception as to a person's intention to perform a promise shall not be inferred from the fact alone that he did not subsequently perform the promise. You would also receive a non traffic citation and have to pay a fine.

I guess I'd like to think it was just someone new to this (could be wrong) and got into more then he thought and could handle. If so, people understand mistakes and would accept an explanation and apology. You just can't make habits of it.

R.5555 have you grown a giant pumpkin before? There are alot of seeds with great genetics that are capable of growing what the 1818 can grow. aggc.org hiarchery tree will show what the heaviest pumpkins have in there family tree, pumpkinlink.com will show what a perticular seed has grown. Ask for seeds, all it will cost is postage and a bubble envelope. Some clubs have seeds for sale. In the diarys there is a little envelope with that growers email address, if you find a seed email that grower and ask for one.

2/9/2012 9:02:31 PM

R.5555

Yes i have grown one. The 1019 and 1429 wallace.

2/9/2012 9:06:54 PM

R.5555

Yeah that is why i would like his email.

2/9/2012 9:10:29 PM

Bohica (Tom)

do you think for a moment that anyone who knows the Brysons are really going to give you his email address?
I don't buy the whole I am new thing, you tell me that you didnt know at the first auction, ok, maybe, but several auctions? You knew well what you were doing and you didnt just place one bid, you made sure you bid on seeds several times. Remember, I was the auctioneer at one of the auctions.
Every year there are new versions of people just like you. Shannon is right, you only have one chance to make a first impression....and you blew it.
When you send those bubbles remember to add the fact that your handle is R.5555....

R.5555 how old are you? are you very young?
Sorry is just word. The action of a apology is the willingness to make it right to the ones you wrongs. Hiding is easy but it will haunt you. Do the right thing contact the one you have wronged. Let them know what happened even if it is scarey and even if you have no money. Do what you can to make it right.
To the clubs: this is very sad that this could happen to a fund raising. You have been very good to resolve this. But if he don't act now to fix this. Then he should be turned over to the law for he's own good. Or he won't learn and will do this to someone else

A great lesson for all the parents out there that let "kids" like R5555 have unlimited and unsupervised time on the internet....trouble!!

I'm sure if R5555's parents knew what he/she was doing and the problems he was causing on this site, perhaps they would take action and curb his/her activities.

Most of the time, it is pretty obvious when a kid is posting...grown-ups are not usually that clue-less and keep persisting and asking for the same thing over and over.

R5555 got some good advice here and offers of help...will he/she take it?? Most likely not...he/she just wants what he/she wants and that is the world record seed to plant.

R5555 you better change your ways before your parents get involved and find out what you are doing on the internet.

Darren C and the others here that offered you advice and help...good for you!!

Horray for you. Did you cover the pumpkins with a sheet or shade, did you water them, they need alot of water. If you are serious, it pays to visit a grower in your area to see how it is done, thats my advice, if serious, find a grower that is close by and ask to visit his patch. Good Luck with your 1789.
