For anyone interested I have some seeds from my Castor Beans I will be glad to share. If you have some extra room, These are a very striking ornamental plant that will grow 12-15' high in the mid Wisconsin growing season, or perennials in a warmer climate. They are a very cool purple color with large variegated leaves. The blossoms are tiny, but the seed pods resemble large purple/red spiny grapes.
These are an ornamental and as such not edible---seeds are poisinous

I'm looking for some edible ones. This 83 year old man who comes to my garden to pick tomatoes keeps asking me to find some castor bean seeds. He was just here yesterday picking early girls & asking me to get some.He lives in a trailer park.so I grow his maters for him.Do you have any eaters?

These are large seeds, correct? Not like amaranth... As such, they shouldn't be a problem as long as you know what you're dealing with.

I wish amaranth had never been introduced into my local environment.

I might be interested in some...

Castor beans are the source of one of the strongest poisons known to man.

Fyi sweet peas are very poisonous too and when ripe the seeds scatter all over but lots of people grow those too. If you are concerned it would be very easy to trim the seed pods long before they are ripe and you would have a great oramental foliage plant. If you dont want to grow them dont ask me for seed.
