this was a dill 500/700 lot. from dill. it shared a hill with my biggest pumpkin so far.300+ it had stripped beetles infest it. bug b gone took them out. no other plant of mine had/has stripped beatles. it had white spots on the leaves. this is only plant that had white spots on the leaf. the other ag was not affected by the beetles or the white spots. the other ag hit 300+ and needs to fill with water. this culled pumpkin has been on the vine since june. it was white..snow white inside. the leaves were gone. and the stem had rotted away. the pumpkin was solid inside. 35lbs and the seed look good.pics in gallery. they had the sugar fuzz around them. the meat was solid and bug free. the outside started to rot.
im going to isolate some for next year, to see if the beatles and blight, will get the offspring.
i think tough pumpkin on a sick plant will produce better qualities in the offspring. yes?no? im not sure. trade? some will be free. or perhaps they will get cooked and eaten!!!yum.
