Well if any of you remember me, I recently moved to Wa. to be with my long lost father of 37 years now. My wife made a bet with my father that we could come within 20 lbs of his pumpkins and I am the one growing them for the first time. Well.... He won... though we havent weighed yet. His largest is now almost 4 times mine and it only passed mine up within the last 6 weeks. I was winning but then suddenly all of mine stopped growing. The biggest being about 95 lbs. So... for next season, I want to get some quality seeds and start growing from seeds,( this year was from nursery startings). Can anyone help point me in the right direction for some premium seeds? I really gotta beat his measly record of about 200 lbs.

On this weekend all pumpkin-freaks there will be "on the road again", so don´t worry if they do not answer. Wait til nov/dec than they list on this site real good seeds you can receive for only a few bucks. Or become a member of the PNW Pumpkin Growers you can receive seed from them.

go to this link--it will be a start for you to get the Joel Holland video for 2002, as well as i recommend the '97 and the 2003, though i haven't seen it yet! be sure to get some free seeds with the video that are sure to beat 95 and /or 95 X 4=360# yeah, that'll get beat too!
it will be tough for me to figure out which Holland seeds i'll be planting myself next season! i cannot give out the phone #, though i'm sure you could find it. just write to The Man, and i'm sure he'll send you an updated price list and what you need to know. there's probably plenty of time before the video is ready, so tell him of your needs and tell him pumpkinpal2 eric gerry sent you! good luck! Bug - Now is the time to start planning for next year.
Good seed is big part of the equation. I think patch prep is just as big if not more so. Start loading up the patch with as much organic as possible. (manure & leaves)
Joel will set you up well. The videos are good at "how to" If you haven't gotten them already get the Langevin books - or at least the 3rd one...
