I was sent these seeds and wondered Tom why a 455 Andrews only hit 94 pounds and these seeds were real white? I will be interested to see what comes out of these from others next year. Thank you for your generosity, my seeds are headed your way.

the 455 Andrews seed itself is white, at least the 2 Glenn sent me were. It only hit 94 pounds for a number of reasons, the fruit was at 34.5 inches in circumference at day 10 and growing fast, but we got a really bad heat wave around day 15 that really slowed it down, it nearly stopped growing for 3 days but then started back up again. Also, i'd like to point out that it was the largest pumpkin from MD at the weigh-off in Altoona. Why don't you ask how Tom Beachy (who has grown a 1097) how his 946.5 Geerts plant grew a 21 pounder. The best explaination i can give you is simply sh!t happens. tom
