Hi- I am a second year grower (counting next year :)) I am looking for a seed that will grow well in Montana. Does anyone know of any plants that have grown well in a warm climate with very low humidity and also fairly cool nights? I was just going to ask for seeds but I didn't see the point in taking someones seeds if they won't grow well in my climate and someone else would get more benefit out of them. Thank you and Happy Halloween!!

I think onions do well in that kind of climate...ha ha!
Sorry but I couldn't help myself...
Might I suggest that you get the best possible proven seed you can and then try to protect your plant with Remay evenings and try harder to water as much as you can.
I'm not the expert but pumpkins in general are warm weather plants and I don't think that it's that easy to find a cold resistant seed/plant.
Some might argue that a pumpkin grown in such a climate develops some resistance to those conditions though. In this case you may want to try a Montana grower to get seeds from. Good luck to ya!....and I'd be happy to give you some seeds from my pumpkins this year. Our weather was identical here in Germany.
I also have some proven seeds to send but won't give away the very best seeds since I'm planting about a hectare this year from the tons of seeds I received last year. (I never figured that the great growers would be as generous as they were!) Michel
