Just another Southern trick. They won't grow in the Northeast. Just as well cause they are dry enough to cholk a squirrel and the hogs won't eat them either.

However if you get enough black strap molasses and brown sugar laced with butter they make a decent pie.

Just go ahead and send some of those "southern tricks" to me again this year, since no one else wants 'em. (Those were the sweetest tastin pecans I ever ate!)

All y'all are funny..... I was in 'Lanta two years and understand completely....don't think you can fool all us northners....ha ha!
I'll actually try a seed here in Germany.... I'd also say Sieg Heil but that wouldn't be proper since I'm officially an American...did my time too!

One of my fondest memories of a family trip to San Antonio was feasting on fresh pecans pulled from beneath our feet on the front lawn of Meg and Anthony's house...yummy....somewhat lo-carb too !....Jeff's got tasty nuts????...I dont wanna know !!!....G

I have friends who planted the so called Norther Pecans. The make a tree here but no cotton picken nuts. Could maybe get nuts in a warm side micro climate situation in town using the cement jungle as a thermal mass.
