Just got a mailing yesterday from Joel about his 2003 video. He says he will send a seed from his 1134 with every purchase...while supplies last.

So what seed produced that 1134.0 Holland? That seed into equal ground, equal weather conditions and management may do it again. No assurance at all that the 1134.0 will do it for you.

There is no assurance that the 1134 will produce anything, but it can't hurt...

Surprise, surprise! The 1134 came from the 846 Calai and was pollinated with the 845 Bobier. (I'm sure this cross will produce only puny pumpkins!)

There is still no assurance, but I wouldn't bet against it.

So the Video (with the seed) cost $27.00 does that include shipping? What is the Video about? Is it a Pumpkin growing video? I think the seed has GREAT potential. If it is a pumpkin or vegetable growing video I wouldn't mind purchasing it. I would love some more information about the video. Thanks for the information. Diane

I sent an e-mail to the Holland's to request information on the video. Can't get enough information on growing pumpkins if that is what it is about. Thanks,

Joel's videoes are very informative. Sometimes they may show a small part inrelated to growing AG's, but mostly his videoes are all about growing AG's in his patch or tours of others. Definitely interesting!

Diane,
Joel makes a video each year about growing giant pumpkins. He also includes some very beautiful footage of the areas he's been to. (The $27 includes shipping and handling.) This year's video includes a trip to the Ohio Valley, with stops at the patches of Quinn Werner,Frank Lanterman, Al Gibson,Jerry Rose, and myself. Also stops at the Mihalec, Mettler, Pugh, and Roulst patches in the Pacific Northwest. There is also an "educational" portion of the video with methods and growing tips. Also included is coverage from several weigh-offs. Joel has been doing this for a while and the videos seem to get better every year.I'm hoping to get an 1134 seed, which I believe will be a great producer, my comment about puny pumpkins was my attempt at humor and sarcasm. Can't a guy have any fun on this site anymore?

toot! toot! ya know what i've been doin' for the last few years? every time i order one of Joel's videos from the present year, i ALSO get one from one year further back than the oldest one i have so far...i started-out watching the '97, which just by chance was the one i read the description of and decided i like the best of those listed, ohh, about 3 years ago.. i still highly recommend the '97. example: 97+98, 96+99, 95+00, 94+01, 93+02, 92+03. well, i'm off by one for where i'm really at, lol, but the idea was to broaden my scope and see how things were done weigh back when. plus, this cuts down on wearing out the present-year's tape! lol --- there should be a pop-up ad for Joel's tapes on the front page here, as a prerequisite for getting off to a good start, as well as Don Langevin's Books 1,2,3! plus, the previous years' tapes are usually like $12.50 each when bought with the present year's tape. it has made it even more interesting!
