Is a 350 Langevin a great seed? What's the largest grown from that seed?

The 350 Langevin grew the Simmons 856, which shattered the NC state record last year. He grew 2 state records on the same plant. They were a promotional giveaway with Don Langevin's book. There's no doubt still a bunch of them out there, but they're hard to locate and identify.
The Mooresville weigh-off is no longer, I'm sorry to say. The guy who put it together is unwilling and unable to continue due to health reasons and lack of sponsor support. The only NC weigh-off I'm now aware of is in Raleigh. Allardt, TN has a good one in mid-October, but it's not sanctioned. There's another near Atlanta August 25. E-mail me for info on either one or both.

Thanks, I was a little confused when I called the number for the weigh-off info and instead I got a financial group.

Tom,
Remember, a good seed is only part of the equation. Believe me, there is A LOT more too it, than just having a good seed!

I e-mailed Don Langevin himself, but he doesn't have any. he said if he did that he would plant one too.

the350 Langevin is a a good seed. It grew my 788 and had a another one this year that was humming, lost it at 43 days to a blossom end split, culled it at 45 days, UOW 589lbs. I did save the seeds but very few look mature(self pollinated) they are almost dry enough to test. I will put a post out later if they germinate. In related news I used the 350 as a pollinator to the 801 Ciliberto and the 600 Reynolds. These pumpkins seem solid and hope to have seeds from them for the seed givaway here.
