Can someone help me with this? What in the opinion of all you expert pumpkin growers is the best AG off-spring that will produce the biggest and best shape pumpkins? I want to grow this year for size, color and shape. Thanks for your help.

995 Carter 01 produces some of the nicest fruit I've seen. Also the 810 Dill 99 will give you big and orange as will the 1016 Daletas 01.

Although I think I can figure out the best size part of your question what do you consider the best color and shape? BF

i had a 508 pound pumpkin that i was thoroughly impressed with the entire growing season, off of my 300 seed (1140 X 845 Bobier)...the plant was about 600 sq.ft. Boily grew it last year, and had a few promising fruit, but perhaps the heat or just bad luck kept it from showing its true potential. the one i grew my 508 on also had 4 other fruit on other vines, from 191 est. wt to 275 est. wt., all nicely-orange-colored and no splits, cracks or anything...
so if you want a few and plant one or a couple alongside whatever else you grow for real, this plant may suprise you! i'll be growing it at a neighbor's patch as a pollinator for my 815........i can't wait! email me if interested. 'pal2

The 869 Calai is a classic Beauty for your qualifications.
For an easy win take Ned up on his offer. - its a good one
Other options: If you got deep pockets you can buy an original 869.5 Calai @ auction. - Like lot 16 in tonights IPGA auction. It will probably run you a few hundred bucks
You could also try to locate a 'replicant' or reverse cross. Like the 808 Beachy or 560 Stucker - unknown results 634 kilbert -reverse
The 995 Carter is a good option too as it can go heavy if provided the right conditons.

A fellow in Italy grew our 644 01 this year and had a beautiful orange fruit from it. Several other growers have had the same results. email me if you like orange heavy fruit I have a few 644 seeds left.

My 603.5 won the Howard Dill award at Canfield this year for best shape and color. Look in my grower diary for some pictures of it.
It was a Nesbitt 845 that I self pollinated. The Nesbitt 845 is an 846.0 Calai 1999 (F) x 723.0 Bobier 1999 UOW (M).
It’s obviously unproven but has potential, and you’re not likely to get a Calai 869 or 846.
Email if you’re interested.
