I need to purchase a seed I bought in a seed auction, and have decided to go ahead and purchase it by means of selling my 582 Hester.
Those interested need to bid on it in this subject posting only replying to this posting. Person with winning bid will then send the $ amount to the organization who has the seed I'm purchasing. I'll send off the seed once the winning bid has been announced, then that organization can send you the 582, and I can get my seed as well. A win - win proposition.
Any dollar amount exceeding the amount I need to pay for my seed will go to their organization, not towards me. For your security, this seed is marked by Brett, and I will let the winner know what the # is before sending it away. This will guarantee what I send out is exactly what you purchase.
I'll check daily to see if anyone has questions, and to monitor the bid amounts. Good luck to those involved and to all participants...
Marc

I guess I'll ask before anyone else does. If you don't have permission from Howard Dill to see seeds, can you do it legally? It doesn't necessarly bother me, but is it allowed?

Why don't you just let everyone know what amount you need? Although you should just let someone else have the seed you won for the price you bid. Then they would get the seed legally from the auction.

Yes, the wife found out Wayne...I'm not sure whats more important to me... her... or the seed I'm after...LMAO! Just to better inform everyone, the seed number on the seed is between 0 and 20... in case that matters. So far Vineman is high bidder at $90. Are there any other bids?
Also... Although I'm auctioning off the 582, I'm sure it will bring in much more than what I need to claim my seed, and the $ goes towards Jim Scherwoods group. Any extra money raised does nothing to benefit me, so I don't see how this could be unethical or improper to do. I have no ties to Jim's organization, they just get an extra $ bonus from the deal. If anyone feels I'm out of line by doing this, feel free to inform me why this is wrong. Marc

Nothing wrong here Marc, as I see it. Your are swapping your 582 with an unknown mistery seed no one can guess about that one person is going to win in a satellite BP message board mini auction from the original Scherwoods group auction. It is rather odd and complicated, no more, but sounds funny. Next year give a bigger gift to your wife... before auctions begin!
Good luck.......................Carlos

Well now... Hoppy puts bid at $140. Any others left out there who RReeeaaallllyyyy want to grow the 582 more than he does? The 582 topped out at $260 in the last auction, and probably will go for more in the OVPGA auction. This is a opportuntity to purchase it before the OVPGA's goes up for bid. Those who still really want a 582 will be able to bid on the other seed Janurary 2nd... this is 1 of 2 - 582's that you can bid on in the next few auctions, as no others are listed to be auctioned off from the other organizations. If you really want one, you only have 4 days to get this one or the OVGPA's.
Since there is another 582 being auctioned off in the OVPGA on January 2nd at 10:00 PM EST, I'll allow bidding to continue until 9:45 PM EST, and I'll announce the winner prior to the start of the OVPGA's auction. I'll also post the winner in this thread, as well as send the winner an e mail.
I'll be sending out the 582 today, so it is ready to roll after all final bidding is complete. BTW... the money needed to cover for my seed has already been more than matched, so anything else raised for the 582 is extra money for the PGVG organization.
Thanks to everyone which are and have participated so far. I hate getting rid of a 582, but I really have plans for my seed, as I'll be making some very interesting genetic crosses in 2004 from it and my others. I guarantee 2004's genetics will be worthy of interest, and might prove my "Hybrid Vigor" theory.

Hey Marc how did you come up with your vigor theories and where did you write about them? I only know of Joe Ailts' articles on hybrid vigor. Is this like the case of Newton and Leibniz coming up with calculus idependently at the same time or what?

The 582 has been sent out. Seed was shipped in a double bubble packet and mailed off first class yesterday. Two more days to place your bids. Current high bid stands at 150 from Brent Woofley. Good luck to all...

For the record...Yes... Brent Woofley was the high bidder {but of course], the same brent who bought and owned the PNWGPG seed auction January 3rd...LOL!
Look out guys...he has some really killer genetics for 2004 all purchased in just 2 days. Better watch out everyone... owning so many good seeds like that should be outlawed!
Best of luck to Brent in 2004!!!
Thanks everyone for your bids and participation!
