I'm not asking to trade one...yet. I'm just wondering how hard they are to get, like is it 845 status or just say 911 Stelts type. Not bad but nothing special. I've never seen one at auction. Is this because they are rare or is there just no demand for one. Thanks, Alex.

Hi Alex, If you have nothing to trade just let me know. I will then send you a 922.5 for free. If you have something that you want to give in return for it it would be nice.. Let me know! Martin

I grew the 922.5 last year....in spite of it's reputation for splitting. Without doubt, this plant grew like it was on "steroids"!! Had a "flat vine" six inches out of the ground. Resolved that problem in about three feet with vigorous trimming. It then went on to developed a main vine the size of my ankle!! It's pumpkin was on target to easily hit 1K, but unfortunately, it split in two places by mid August!
Like I tell my seeds when I plant them, "Fool me once...shame on you. Fool me twice...shame me." They know that they better "grow right" or they won't get a second chance! I'm certain that there are alot of growers with 922.5's in their "stash".

So did these split in really good soil? If so maybe they would be good in poor soil?? Any thoughts? Steve

I don't know how they would do in poorer soil but I will see this year as I am growing one in my not the greatest but not the worst soil.

My 922.5 plant was grown last year in a patch with very little improvements made to it.
It developed a huge main vine and I believe 3 additional huge secondaries. It kept wanting to set pumpkins all year and I removed many up to 100 lbs. or so and the main pumpkin never split but didn't have very thick flesh. Maybe all of the pumpkins on the plant kept them from splitting. When frost hit us on september 2nd and 3rd the largest pumpkin was about 565lbs. Most of the seeds inside had split.
