Snake pattern is when the main vine is grown out and all secondaries are pruned off.

Not for genetics only,
I planted the 646 Pukos this year and pruned it into a snake pattern (to be a pollinator only), but since the pumpkin was doing so well on it (I pollinated one on the plant) that I kept it growing... I grew a beautiful 794 (if you are a member of AGGC.com you can see a picture of it on that website) Wronski, so you can grow a big pumpkin on a snake plant, it is possible. My plant was a modified snake pattern. Since the pumpkin was doing so well, I kept a few secondaries and placed them (coaxed them when they were young) so as to work into my limited space, these few secondaries helped feed the pumpkin and it worked.

Not a member of AGGC but I will keep trying. How much square footage did that plant take? Did it require more/less work than your other plants? Thanks.....Tom
