Or if you are looking for orange seeds with much bigger potential you can get them for the cost of a shipping bubble envelope. Just gotta ask.

Oh that’s all?... from a 98 pounder?...what a deal...I’ll pass, and wait for your seeds from your 2000 pounders this year. The ones grown with the secret sauce. Keep me posted. I’ll be calling in the fall when I hear about them. Good luck

OK let me get right on that...I am normally a pretty tolerant person but will call a spade a spade when I see it. What is your actual purpose of being on this site. It seems to me like you are here for seed acquisition, and now seed selling. We all have our rights for that. But lets be realistic no one is paying $5 for a seed that came from a 98lb pumpkin.

Those seeds sound like something that could go into the exotic seed exchange this fall. I wouldn't pay a wooden nickel for those seeds.

So if someone buys all 79 of them for $275, that’s just about $3.48 per seed. Does that come with free shipping?

I have seeds from my 511 Ritter: 1803 Gadberry times 1911 Urena. Reverse cross of 2528 Geddes and 1 vote away from HDAW. All it costs you is a self adressed bubble.

sorry, it's not 'times' but 'by' or just 'X' indicating 'this one pollinated BY the other' - works the same concerning 20 feet X (by) 40 feet, etc. laughed my ass off researching the 1 Ritter 2018, lol---keep up the good work! eg

When you don't think about X as a possibility :). The funny part is there never was a 1 pound Ritter. If kardaza says his could get 700-800 pounds I guess at the same ratio mine could get to 4,200 pounds. 1000 is a realistic estimate. If everything grows right my 511 should grow me 1000 this year. Then you add COlorado factor and don't know if you will have a pumpkin to polinate.

Thanks for the offer Leif. It’s nice to see growers sharing their seeds . You know, instead just posting jerk messages. You do not need to buy seeds to get into this hobby.

Karadza, when you start posting pictures of what you are growing and asking growing questions, people will stop treating you like a jerk. This site is about GROWING giant vegetables NOT SEED commerce. Seed commerce is a small part of this site. Go to a different site if your only motive for being here is seed commerce. You may end up in BP jail if you that is your only motive for being here.

pretty funny - i was just watching You Tube about 'what is zero to the power of zero' - you'd think it is zero, but there are some laws of mathematics that i've yet to see (my connection started buffering, thank God, lol---my eyes were closing) - the values begin to reverse at a certain point, completely odd, i think i know it all, lol---will watch more later - hey, two cars going the same speed, side (X) side, lol---one of them is going fifty; the other is going fifty, too. hah! later---eric g

They may belong in exotic seed exchange. But if I got them, I'd need more information before deciding if they deserved a space in the garden. No idea of what they really are.

What are the seeds genetics? I mean really, what makes a 98 pound pumpkin have 700-800 LBS potential? Unless they have 2145.5, or 1911 genetics, or something g else good, I don't see how they are that good of seeds.

then, open your eyes - there have been plenty of seeds that came from itsy-bitsy pumpkins that have grown offspring far in excess of the misconceived notion that big pumpkins have to come from previous big pumpkins. eg

Sure, but i wouldnt buy them without knowing their genetics, and their genetics make them have a 700-800 LBS potential. Without good genes, they are worth nothing, and even with good genes, they are worth litle, because if you sign up to a club, youll get 20+seeds, and only wor a few dollars, so not sure they are worth the 5 dollars and shupping, when you send a bubble envwlope, you get great seeds. And, all i said, was i did not know how they were good without knowing their genetics, so i wasnt wrong.

i've thought about my crude remark all day and was not looking forward to it having been taken as it seems to have been - so, sorry about that, and nor was i wrong, either, but rude about it in making a play on words concerning 'i don't SEE how they', lol, but noting the time at which i commented is about 17 minutes before i have to leave for work and i WISH i could keep my computer off until i get home, rather than hastily blurting out what might be CORRECT but in some instances, a lit-tle on the abrupt, in-your-face and 'wish i had said it more nicely' side. there, now we've both learned from it. i speak the truth - amongst others abroad, i, myself have a 178-pound-parent seed that grew for me a 700-pounder; i've also got a 100-pounder, one of whose seeds grew me a 570-pound, deep-orange beauty; heretofore, lol, their genetics are (my own 492 from '07 X 1421.5 Stelts) and the other (746 Snyder X 689.5 Sandercock) - the 100 is the orangest X the orangest of the orange, believe me. well, beddy-bye!---eg

Growing large pumpkins is a combination of techniques (skill and attention to detail) plus genetics. So a grower can, grow a small pumpkin, say 100-200 lbs from a great seed. But the genetics are still there so seeds from this can grow a huge pumpkin.
But if the genetics are not there in this small pumpkin, no skill can produce a huge pumpkin.
A random 100 lb pumpkin without the genetics will not suddenly produce a huge pumpkin. Just too many genes and gene interactions goes into this. It is not just one gene that carries the magic.
So without any background information of genetics, a claim that a seed from a 98 lb pumpkin can produce a 700-800 lb pumpkin is not credible.
If these seeds had been grown, and produced pumpkins of that weight, it would be a different story.
But even if that were the case, it is almost impossible that all the seeds would have this potential.
And as pointed out, lots of orange pumpkins in 700 plus range with proven genetics that people are willing to share for free.

218 Sandercock? i had two, grew one, one left and it didn't sprout in '19. (689.5 Sandercock (869.5 Calai X SELF) X 670 Daigle). orangest of the orange by the same or better. you won't find the 218 on PF easily or at all - the 689.5 is in (Ned)'s diary, forget the year. like 2008... don't matter, VERY orange! now, IF SO, what might the pollinator be? i was GONNA try the Karadza seeds, but i have about 30 plants yet to choose from of my own; i wish i HAD, now, lol, nahh, lol---eg---really, i HAD thought about it.---eg

Hey Porkchop, what would you suggest if I wanted to grow a giant "Orange" pumpkin? You know a Howard dill type of winner.... Looking at next year and want a good orange one.
