Hi gang, My four year old and I are trying to make pumpkin history. This was our first year and I felt pretty good about his 38.5 pound pumpkin. He won 3rd place in our State Fair. However it has come to our attention that we bought the run of the mill pumpkin plant from Home Depo and no amount of Mircle grow is going to get us a true : Big Boy" as my son Asa says. So here is the big question, which Pumpkin seeds give the biggest pumpkins? ( A nice lady at the Pumpkin farm says Atlantic something pumpkins are suppose to be huge but don't believe it! There are bigger ones out there. Is this true? Is it rude to ask a pumpkin person to buy seeds from them? So we patiently wait for any help you divine pumpkin people can give us! Thanks everyone and have a great week,
Love Kara

The Atlantic Giant seeds are protected by law, so you shouldn't be able to buy them, the great news is that you can get seeds with great genetics from this site for free!

i'm not 100% positive if this is the way it works, but the way i understand it is that when howard dill got his patent, it enabled him to grant certain individuals/businesses the ablility to sell his seeds. i believe that back in the day P&P was granted permission by howard to sell his seeds. as to the specifics of the deal i have no idea. there are probably a handful of others out there who have howard's permission to also sell seeds. in Canada you are free to do as you wish because U.S patents are not enforceable there. that is why some Canadian growers sell there seeds. hope this helps

There should be ag seed distributers throughout the states, that way you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for shipping.

An arm & a leg for shipping? I pay 20 cents for a bubble-pac & 54 cents postage. That's why I never ask for anything but a address & I'll take care of the rest......Paul Oh Yea , the seeds I sent to Australia only cost me 90 cents total. so shipping & handling is not that extreme
