977 in your first year is not too shabby at all! I may never see that weight unless I add the weights of two or three pumpkins together... Way to go! Michel in Germany

Michel,
I predict that you will grow your first 1000lbs pumpkin within the first two years growing in the USA after your move.
I really think that those growers growing the 1000 pounders are not better growers than we here in Germany, they only have better weather. I think the weather is all what makes the difference.
Just look at growers in Belgium, Sweden, Spain and Italy. Why are they growing the 900 to 1000lbs pumpkins? Because they have better weather. Those growers are also doing a lot of hard work and are great growers but I bet if they tried to grow in Germany they would have the same results as we are having.

Martin, what are you talking about? I hve several friends who live in the USA and are from Germany. For years all I have heard about is how great everything is in Germany. In fact I've been lead to believe that the best of everything is in Germany. Are you sure you don't live in Russia or some other less fortunate part of the world than Germany?

Seedy One, I'm a new 1st year grower. Your seeds sound great. I'd like to have one, but unfortunately, right now I have nothing to trade. Is there anyway you'd be willing to share one with a fellow enthusiast.
