Is there a method for saving seed that reduces the chances of seed borne diseases?

I've found drying them in normal outside conditions through the fall and them storing them in an open tupperwear with a loose paper towel to absorb any additional moisture that might be present. I've learned not to stack too many on top of each other as that pressure/contact has been known to attract moisture or stimulate germination if temperatures are too high.
