I'm looking for a couple of these seeds, if you want to trade or give them away e-mail me.
If you want a trade let me know what your looking for. Sorry no 810 Dill, 842 Eaton or 845 Bobier.
*Note: With the US border I can't guarentee seed will make it across as I will send any trade seed as before with a declaration for customs only(no phyto-certificate).
Hopefully some one has one or two they don't need and is willing to give them away.
I'm also putting feelers out for a couple 720.5* Welty squash seed, if you have one or two e-mail me but the same as above applies to trades.
Thanks TTYL Ernie
Ps. any 1260 Weirs out there....

Ernie, last time I knew the Ohio Pumpkin Growers were selling some 1370's to raise money for their group. You might want to check it out.

I never had problems last year receiving seed from across the border. But if anyone is willing to give away all these good seeds, I'd sure like some too!!

Dave:
Checked with Nic and he is not sure what is left, plus it has been a hard time getting a hold of him.
Nic Please e-mail,
Yes it is still early in the pumpkin seed season but have alot to do this winter and would like to aquire my seed and get on to my other things.
Southern:
Thanks for the post it was really appreciated....
I heard of some not having a problem with the crack down starting in January '04 with the phyto certificate but I would rather not take a chance making a trade and the seed gets grabbed at the border, Don't think a grower would appreciate knowing is 810 Dill or 845 Bobier was destroyed by customs. Even though as you say most still get through.
As for free seed why wouldn't some one not using it give it away, I myself have received hundreds of seed for free and give away hundreds of seed yes top seed included and I have received top seed for free as well.
Maybe next time you wish to respond to someones post and you have nothing to add of any value you might want to keep your comments to yourself.

That's funny Southern found this post... written by you.
"A friendly note to some of the newer members of our community, some seed request etiquette you wouldn't know unless it was mentioned. Occasionally people express their desire for a seed, by chiming in on someone elses specific seed request post...."piggybacking" as it were. It's probably better to just make your own request post, so other folks requests don't get overlooked."
Like I said about the previous post of yours earlier.
"Thanks for the post it was really appreciated...."

I wasn't "piggybacking" Ernie, just making a comment. I'm not looking for a specific seed on your post. Actually I've been hearing some comments lately about your search for free seed and customs "concerns", a few new growers e-mailed me about correspondence with you. Maybe you'd like to e-mail me and I'll discuss it with you.

We'll keep this short, "I'd sure like some too!!"
Piggybacking, plain and simple.
I believe I am aware of the fact that "NEW" growers that correspond with myself, sending request for seed also send an e-mail to you for your advice in their correspondence with myself. Ya right.
I do not honour all requests and the ones I do I state up front my concerns. I have even gone as far as asking others to give a new grower seed because they trully wanted to grow it and I wanted to insure they got the seed from the States side.
I'll now take this off this site and discuss this via e-mail as you requested.

Oh and if you want to swap comments from others Kyle, I'll play....
Remember this post from last year,
http://www.bigpumpkins.com/MsgBoard/ViewThread.asp?b=3&p=36343
Please if you don't have any of the seeds I am looking for, either for trade or free, keeping in mind my concerns at the border as I would hate to trade with you and you not receive your seed because of US customs at the border, Please keep comments off my post.

I think most of the problem is when the seeds come our way Ernie. They go to Canada fine, but our guys cut'em off when they are coming back. Also, let me know if Nic doesn't have anymore of his 720.5's I have 1 I can spare ( no trade). And I have a 349 lber that was a 720.5 x self........Paul

Ernie.....; If this is any help...I put my seeds in a bblpac then into a 5,7/8 x 9,5/8 brown catalogue envelope from Staples and mail it ...no green sticker and 99.9% go through.

Paul:
Yes that is exactly my concern. I'll let you know on the 720.5
Peter:
Thanks for the info, I think I'll try to send some seed to the states, one with the customs sticker and one with-out like you mention.
Kyle:
Yes thanks for the e-mail I believe we have cleared this up and there was a misunderstanding on both parts, I have no problem asking for free seed without a trade even the hot ones. If a grower isn't using it...
I don't want trade seed not getting to the grower, plain and simple but as posted above I will try first with a couple packs of our seed first. Also as stated in the reply e-mail I was defensive because I did not appreciate you making fun at my request.
But we have apologized and I believe understand the others concerns and point of view and we will leave it there.
