Hey Folks, I want your ugly pumpkin seeds! :-) A few years ago we hit upon someone selling their pick-your-own pumpkins for charity. (Right after 9/11.) It clearly was a field that had gone semi-wild. They had cross bread with everything. So you had all sorts of lumpy, mishapen and plain UGLY pumpkins. My friend loved it! Rather than working with a plain canvas, he had something interesting to carve. We've not seen the like since. This year I deliberately grew pumpkins next to hubbard squash to try to get a nasty cross breed but just about everything died of powdery mildew. So I'm sending out a cry to the board here! Pumpkins are said to be the sluts of the squash family. Did you plant your pumpkins next to something last year they got too friendly with? If you have nasty, warty UGLY squmpkins this year that you are just about to throw out? I would be very interested in your seeds! Size does not matter! Since everything died this year, I don't have seeds to trade. But I'm happy to pay postage and send pictures or whatever you like. Cheers, Jo jo@111george.com
