Someone who wants to GROW them.
I have two more of these seeds than I will ever use and wish to give them to two deserving people.... for the cost of a SASBP. Now the 845 Nesbitt has proven itself to be a very good seed I know but I do not know exactly what it has produced other than "some very big pumpkins." Maybe someone who has AGGC wouldn't mind posting its offspring here?
Anyhow, it is my hopes that these seeds will go to newer growers who has had a dificult time finding very good proven seeds. If you want to GROW one of these, please shoot me an email. Based off the emails, I will form my own opinion of who is most in need of the seed and who WANTS it the most. So if you REALLY want it you better put a little thought and some convincing words into your email that make me want to pick you. I sure hope these two seeds can find a better home than I will be able to provide.

I have had many emails from those desiring the 845 Nesbitt, probably more than I expected. To give more growers a chance, I will be accepting email requests through months end. At that time I will reread all request letters and the two most convincing growers should have an 845 Nesbitt in their possession before Christmas. The majority of emails I have received so far are simple one liners saying something along the lines "I want the 845 Nesbitt seeds." Some others have written a couple paragraphs or pages describing their mission and how they intend to master it. I am looking for those type of growers, those who can and take a moment to put into words how they are going to give 110% to raising giant pumpkins and that they will stop at nothing to achieve it. HINT: If you cant take 5 minutes to write a little note in an attempt to receive a seed you so much desire, then you wont make time to provide the seed and the sport what it needs and deserves. I see it differently, if I would give the AG´s all the care it need, I would not be able to write e-mails with more than 2 lines.

Ok come on give me a break...LOL! I need to have some way to choose dont I? i have a couple dozen requests and only 2 seeds. I wish i had one to give to everyone but I dont. As far as english teacher... heck no. I am the worst speller in the world and i wont car eabout your grammer. I just want to give them to someone who is dedicated to growing giant pumpkins, not someone who will plant it without the desire or knowledge to give it a decent chance at being a giant. I thought i was doing something nice but maybe I will think twice in the future. Have a great Turkey day everyone!!!! Mike Frantz

thank you, doug 14. my first thought when i saw the seeds up for grabs was "gee, i wish the 845 Nesbitt was in my plans to grow next season!" but alas, it didn't have a spot-mentally, anyway. however, after seeing the fruit that Jeff Alberts grew and took to the Oswego, NY weighoff on October 2nd '04, well, i wish i HAD grown it. a beautiful fruit, perfectly shaped, not a thing about it that any grower would not say "wow!" to. and people really took note of the blaze-orange color..check out the 603.5 Muller... anyway, i think it weighed in the 560-570 range. i have had a chance or two to get the 845 Nesbitt, at the auctions, but have just never snatched it up. yo, try to get one of those seeds. i don't know what the down side is to the 845 Nesbitt, but thus far, i don't see that there is one. even the 836.2-pound squash that it grew was just plain gorgeous. so, instead of saying, almost, "gee what a pain!",lol, just "fill-out the form", and then just sit back and wait....good luck to whoever! eric

Steve I think you are right about the drawing the names from a hat but I think combining that with my original plan would be perfect solution. At the end of the month I will sort those "FORMS"...LOL @ Eric!!!..... into two piles. Those that put forth some effort and those who didn't (in my opinion). From the "hey I put forth some effort in an attempt to get this seed" stack, i will put them into a hat and draw the two winners. This will also make it easier on me because it will already be a hard decision. there are a hand full of growers out there that sent me one heck of a letter that I really enjoyed reading and afterwords just thought.... ya this person has what it takes to go really big someday. well...if your looking to weed out the slackers or choose the growers that are eager and enthusiastic why give everyone a second chance? Seems to me the ones who wrote notes and attacked first should be the pool you pick from.

I think you have a great idea Mike. You have a couple of 845 Nesbitts ( great seed) & instead of trading for another you may or may not plant you are putting them in the hands of someone who wants to plant it. No matter how you are giving them out the bottom line is that you are GIVING & how can anyone shoot you down for that. My 2 cents.....Paul

Mike, you are making me feel guilty here with all the great seeds sittin around our house getting old, we and others industrious (sP) should band together and create a pool (which you can run) and off the thousands of seeds we generate to the masses based on their commitment to ,,,, ???? ,,,, this site?

Gad's I think that is a good idea. Im sure most of us have plenty more seeds than we will ever use. i dont know if i want to run it, but I would be willing to be part of a team to do something like this. Maybe there is someone out there who would jump on the oportunity to organize / run something like this? Mike Frantz

why not have a seed sale or independent auction that you might donate seeds of funds back to various clubs.
