For you who are just getting started, exciting news. Hugh Wiberg, Chairperson for the Annual Topsfield Fair All New England Weigh off and the Director of NE Pumpkin Grower's Association will be speaking at the South Hampton, NH Fidelity Grange on March 19th, 2002 at 7:00 pm. For those of you who haven't met Hugh, he is one of the nicest, down-to-earth people you'll ever know, no matter who you are, he always has time to sit down and chat pumpkins with you. I have known him through his annual trek to the Ohio Valley tour/picnic. And, don't forget he was on MARTHA STEWART!

We will have other giant pumpkin growers to mingle with. The energy is building here. We'll probably have a bigger gathering for this in our small town hall than any town meeting ever held. Just wanted to let all of you "Hugh" fans know that our Giant Pumpkin Night was a huge success in South Hampton NH tonight. We were honored to have Craig Weir (before he dashed home to participate in an on line chat visit, Matt Mongeon and Fran Dalton. We were indeed spoiled to have so many talented giant pumpkin growers in one room. Seeds were flying and so were spirits. We look forward to another year gardening. Hugh of course was a great speaker. I wish we had another hour or so with him. Time to plant the seeds now... Wish us luck, Lauren Wise, So. Hampton NH
