We seem to have a small problem with one of the jalepeno plants that we have. One plants leaves appear to being eaten by something but I checked every leaf on it and IO do not see anything on it. The rest of the jalepeno pepper plants do not have anything wrong with the leaves They are all planted relativly close to each other. Does anyone have an idea what this could be?

If it is a slug, they will hide and come out early morning when it is cool out, put some sliggo around, it will stop em.

What kind of damage is it? If you can describe the way the plant is being eaten, I might be able to tell you what the bug is. There are a few nocturnal beetles that will eat jalepeno peppers. I would say they are the culprits. Triazicide usually solves the problem quickly as long as the plants are not blooming heavily. If they are blooming, you might try covering the plants at night with an old sheet or similar material, and uncover them in the day. You don't want to spray pesticides on blooming plants, the bees would put you on their black list ;)

Beetles are the only bugs that I have ever had a problem with on pepper plants. Other bugs dont seem to like the peppers.

Monty, It is hard to describe the way it is being eaten. Most of it appears to be in the middle of the leaves of the pepper plant. There are two that have half the leaf eaten. One of it and only one of them is eaten from the edge. Why this plant and not the 3 other ones right next to it? I noticed there is new leaf growth on it but not as much as the others. There are even two buds waiting to open. I have looked several times during the day and I have not seen any bugs on the plant. That does not mean that they aren't there. I just haven't seen them.
