I was checking my green pepper plants over today and there are one or two pickable size peppers on each plant but not any sign of a new blossem or tiny peppers. What gives here? Should I give them miracle grow or do they like a poor soil? Suppose there were more blossems that did not get pollinated? I was not paying attention to them and did not "tickle" them with a brush as I have done occasionly in other years. How can I get them to blossem again...pick the peppers perhaps? I have never had this trouble before and have always had loads of peppers to freeze.

I'm running into the same problem here. First set of blooms formed nice fruit, but not another bloom anywhere. All peppers are affected here. This is a strange one for me.

What is probably needed is Magnesium. Peppers need a lot of Mg and will not produce many fruit if they do not have enough. I always sprinkle a little epsom salt around mine every year.

The only peppers I have that look near normal are ones that were mulched deeply from the git go. Those in open soil may be seeing to much heating from this unusually hot year in the Northeast. I have no good fruit sets in unmulched open soil.

I have seen a lot of bell peppers with black spots. After 2 app's of Calcium it has pretty much disappeared. Only affected the bells and not the others.

Thanks guys....our soil is liberally laced with horse manure. I put a tablespoon of epsom salts in the holes I set my tomato plants in, but never thought of doing that to the peppers. Thanks...I will dissolve some and water them with it...or should I mix it dry in the surrounding soil? Would Miracle gro help?

I applied the epsom salts and the moracle gro. I now have all kinds of new little blossems forming. Thanks for all the help! It worked!
