My son has a melon approx. 50-60 lbs going. We have a storm to the south, tropical system..Soon to be the east coast head ache.. According to what it does,,we could get 4-6" of rain.. His weigh off is June 28. I have added fert in the last 2 weeks..Its been very dry,but the plant has been watered good.. Any chance the melon will explode? Should I leave all the small ones on the vine? J

I've only heard of one that ever split. At that young age it should be able to handle the rain okay. Just leave the smaller ones on just in case. You can remove them once it dries up a bit. Good luck at your weigh off.
