Subject: what glue to use for joining plastic sheeting?

Does anyone know what type of glue to use to join sheets of plastic that I'm using to solarize my patch, or can I use packing tape to join the edges?

It's a slow process but those hot extrusion glue guns join plastic sheeting together very well, just glue in between a 1-2 inch overlap. And/or you may be able to get ground cover sheet jointing tape if you contact a Horticultural sundries company. I would give a link to such a company but they are in the UK and costs might be high to have items shipped to the USA.

does it need a pure seam///if you are just joining heat up a fork and peirce to sheets together the heat will join them.....

Yes he needs a seam that holds the heat.
Thank you anyway because we who saw your hot fork trick have learned a valuable lesson, for other applications.
