Anyone in here grow Giant Bushel Basket Gourds. We grew a bunch of Giant Swan Gourds this year they seem to be popular sellers. I would be glad to exchange seeds.

Good luck with the Bushel's I tried them in indiana and the growing season just wasnt long enough here. I got a couple nice sized ones but they never were able to get mature enough to last. You might try: http://www.carolinagourdsandseeds.com/ http://www.americangourdsociety.org/

Shannon, I have some Giant pear gourd seeds if you want to give them a try next year, it sure was fun to watch grow and they sure do get BIG. You have a picture of a bushel basket gourd? Im not sure what they look like.

I see Swan Gourds for sale, are the giants a different variety?
I grew some normal gourds this year (birdhouse, etc) and have only recently become aware of some of tremendous varieties out there. The kids LOVE THEM.

Shannon, No bushels here, I also grew swan necks, what is the avg. weight on those...I had a couple approx 18#....most in the 8# range. are seeds from the bigger ones better?...Also had green apple gourds...largest just over 11#...most in the 6# range. Did all of your swan neck gourds produce a head near the vine connection...mine only produced a head on approx. 25% of them. Thanks for the offer, and will be in touch. Thanks again for the seed exch. program. You are a visionary in the prolification of exponential seed prolification....Okay, enough bs Peace, Wayne

Speaking of gourds, does anyone have any very large zucca gourds? I'm also interested in very large pear gouds. Have lots of things to trade for these.
Thanks, sunflower_info
