The onions are planted and awaiting emergence. Anyone out there want to make a friendly challenge just on these onions. Fair warning............I tried once before to grow these. They are definately long day seed. I already found the instructions in direct conflict with themselves so ponder for me how to use super phosphate and heed the warning that they need little or no fertilizer. Oh I know it must have been messed up by the translators. :)))

You all are getting to know Scotti. He has a few secrets of his own concerning big onions. Once he sees the data on these he will be at my backdoor like the neighbors dog looking for a hand-out. If he does not beg a little I will whoop him too. :)))) Maybe I do owe him. Last years huge onions were from seedlings he gave me. He has whooped me for three years now. I am getting an attitude.

Onions will produce seeds in its second year growth. Sometimes you are able to stress an onion enough to make it bolt the 1st year and blossom.

Shannon, so just leave a couple in the ground after the first season of growth? Or harvest and replant full grown onion the next year? Stress, how to? lack of water, lack of light?? Peace, Wayne
