Sort of Sunny Sometimes, WA

I have some giant radish, giant beet, giant corn, giant cabbage, and giant marrow seeds. I'm not sure how and when to start them. Especially the beets and cabbage. I'd appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks, Erin

Sounds like football interest appears to have somewhat deminished (considerably) of late in your area and that you must have a little more free time on your hands!....LOL....
I'm no expert like "Baby Onions Tom", however I would imagine that you should probably wait until early Spring!....just a guess on my part!..."grow 'em big ".....looking forward to some intersting veggie entries in your '07 diary!

Cabbage march 15th...Beets and Radish Beginning of April. Others Beginning of May.

I start my watermelon plants in the first week of March. They are such a long season, that you really need the plants a couple feet long when the hit the garden in mid May. I used lights in the basement and very large pots.

If I don't start this early, I find it difficult to get fully ripe fruit. Fully ripe meaning not just that the seeds are viable, but the rind is reduced to it's minimum size.

Cabbage inside...beets and radish can take a light frost.

Have read that radishes dont transplant well, should be directly sewn. Peace, Wayne I grew some last year, not real tasty, but a radish the size of a baseball does get folks attention!!!!
