My friend wants part of my trumpet vine, and she was going to trade with a part of her honeysuckle vine. I read trumpet vines are easy to grow from cuttings; take a cutting and put it in wet soil. I did this, but they look very sad and droopy today like they are about to drop dead. Is this supposed to happen?? If anything, I picked up a packet of Rootone rooting hormone to try again if this doesn't work. Am I doing anything wrong??

Build a mini-greenhouse with plastic wrap (from the kitchen) supported by sticks so the plastic can't touch the leaves. Then keep the potted cutting in the "bright shade" (no direct sun) until the cutting starts to show signs of life (a week maybe). Then gradually remove the plastic over several days. Once the plant is out ofthe woods you can slowly get it back into direct sun & it's on it's way.
