I have two ornamental cherry trees in my front yard that are comming along nicely. Except for the fact that every year I have to battle the japanese beatles for thier foliage. They will completely defoliate the trees if I dont keep up with the triazicide regularly. My problem is that the trees are starting to get tall and my 8 foot ladder is getting too short as a spray platform to cover the trees. Does anyone have a good suggestion of perhaps a systemic I could use that would kill the beatles? I was thinking maybe merit as I do not eat the fruit (these are just ornamental) If merit is good how much to use in the form of say grubex? thanks Eric

Get a stihl mistblower....tell the wife its for the fruit trees so you have to use house money and not your private pumpkin funds stash.............

A mistblower would be sweet. still too rich for my budget House or pumpkin. The bayer stuff sounds cool if I can find some.. I didn't know they made the stuff. Is the active ingrediant Merit?
