The Craven variety of sunflowers I am growing are all getting leggy. They are outside in pots and all hardened off and in a sunny location. The other variety I am trying all seem to be fine, nice and sturdy. What can I do to to fix this? Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

andy, just make sure you stake them! mine were a little leggy, but i planted mine yesterday. i put stakes in for more support. i will water daily, and fertilize every couple of days. the sunflowers need to establish they're roots. they will become more stable once the roots take hold. this is what i do, it works for me. hope this helps a little!

It's likely that your Craven were crossed with some other variety.
