This year I did grafted Atlantic Giant to a Cucurbita foetidissima seedling. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=124759 C. foetidissima has many common, names, buffalo gourd and stinking gourd to name a few. It's a perennial with a very large root. I can't wait to try this with a mature rootstock pushing the scion. Anyone else game to try it? I wouldn't recommend eating the fruit though. Buffalo gourd has some nasty chemicals in it that might find their way in. Here's a link on how to:http://www.hos.ufl.edu/vegetarian/06/Jan%2006/watermelon%20grafting.htm
