Has anyone had any luck drying them out? I have tried about everything. Never had one completely dry. Even tried all sizes from 40-100+ pounds. I had one almost dry then crack really bad. The shell seems much thinner than other gourds. Do giant Kettles dry better?

For these we always dried them in the rafters of the shed if small enough they hung from wire around the stem or the larger ones sat on chicken wire with mill screen under them. Big key I think is dark cool and dry with decent ventilation

H, I don't think it's light or dark...but cool and airflow!!! Any gourd that I have hung, w/ airflow has dried well!!! I hang from the rafters in my pole barn/garage, and keep a couple fans running awl winter long!!! Very few failures!!! Wish you luck!!! PS...I also leave em in the patch till almost freezin time!!! Peace, Wayne
