Carolina Reaper is Suppose to be the new worlds hottest pepper. whether or not it is, is still debatable. Either way I am sure it will melt your face off just like a butch t,moruga, brain strain, etc.

Still not sure what to think about the Reaper -- right now it seems more of a marketing gimmick to sell more seeds since they have done the testing different than others in the past - using several pods and grinding them up together before testing to get an average heat level rather than testing a single pod - and who knows if that skews the test results since they have not released any of the testing methodology or results and have kept all of the growing and testing in house instead of having several growers in different environments grow it and test. So far they seem content with making unsupported claims of it being the Hottest without actually showing any proof -- I'm sure it is one of the superhots just not sure if it is indeed any hotter than any of the others..
Only time will tell - and in the mean time they are trying to make every penny they can off of them by only having 2 sources for the seed and charging $10 for a pack of 10 seeds + about $5 P&H which is a bit steep for pepper seeds but seems to be selling well so far even without any documentation to support the claims.

In another year or 2 there will be plenty of reaper seeds available for a SASBE just like most growers here the pepper growers tend to share seeds as well - and by then we should also have a better idea of what the real world heat level on them is - currently they have all been grown in the same area and mostly indoors under lab type conditions designed to stress the developing pepper to achieve more capsaicin production so whether they will be the same when grown in various conditions is unknown but there are plenty of people growing them this year that we should get plenty of info next season.
