Grew my first Bhut this year, and what a beautiful plant!!! However, any suggestions on how to use these peppers? They seem to have only heat, not much flavor. My plant yielded about 100 of them, all of which are drying as pieces or whole....I have some that I am going to crush for flakes & powder. Comments???? Thanks.

Why not smoke and dry them like chipotles. I'd be very careful however because sometimes the smoke can irritate you

I planted jamaican hot chocolate peppers I got from tomatogrowers.com. They were hot,but had good flavor. They ripen to this deep brown color. I never was a fan of something that just burnt the hell out of your mouth and left you dialing 911! But smoking them like Buffalo Joe said sounds good or make some hot sauce with them, add some different flavors to it.Or chop them up with some water and spay them on your plants to keep critters away! (I've done it before!)

Dry them, crush them, put them in a salt shaker, sprinkle on anything.

Thanks, guys!! Richard, I was planning to do that...make flakes or powder...and be CAREFUL in their use. I did that with my cayenne peppers, and MAN...heat!!!! I DO love hot, and all the "hot" peppers I grew this year were much hotter than usual. Maybe something about this season...don't know. We'll see about the Bhuts. If my cayennes are an indication, they will be "smokin'"!!!! Thanks again. Oh...Punk'nLvr, how did you use those Jamaican guys. That sounds interesting for next year.

I canned some and some I chopped up in my food processor and made a hot sauce with them. A little goes a long way. I like them in stir fries.
