I've never seen a sunflower with so many flowers, is this normal? 25 flowers/buds I don't see a file attachment on this post, for a pic. Thanks Pat

The Guinness World Record for the most blossoms on a sunflower was:
In 2001, Melvin Hemker of St. Charles, MI grew a world-record sunflower with 837 flowers on a single plant.
I called him back when he had the record and got some seeds from the plant. If I remember correctly, most of the plants I grew ended up with about 300-450 flowers on them. His plants grew very wide. Sometimes growing as wide as they were tall.
