There are some articles on this page that might be of some use probably to the winter grow challenge. I know that it is greenhouse , but article 2 mentions Ec and light conditions . I am wondering if this could apply to outdoor plants as the days shorten. What do you think ?

Spudder, There is a lot to think about with indoor growing. Last winter, I had a good discussion on balancing all variables...not just balancing soil nutrients. An experienced indoor grower was teaching me theories about the interactions of strength of lighting, heat and Ec of nutrients. Outdoor growers really do not have to worry about light toxicity. They theory goes. Indoors, light toxicity is possible. If you have sufficient environmental conditions for the stronger light, the plant can utilize it instead of suffering. I will have to look at some of the articles that you posted. I like indoor growing.
