$600 or whatever that's the carrot. What is the stick? Why are they giving away money? I can think of both nefarious and humanitarian motivations for stimulus. But I have no evidence or insight to back them up. Thats why I am asking. Inflation, for better or worse, seems high. If we are getting money that's great but the cost of this free money is high debt and a high inflation rate? Is that going to be a double whammie, later???

I completely agree Grinchy. We cannot afford to keep cheapening our money by taking on unnecessary debt. That is the main reason I call myself conservative. The stick ? Oh, it is out there. The Biden administration is going to "stick it to us" every way they can I think. lol

They are borrowing a huge amount of money in our name, giving us a tiny dab of it and giving the rest to the big businesses. It is our money, so give it to us.

I love that Trump vetoed the $600 crumbs-too-small-for a mouse trickle down. $2000 would show real concern. It's not free money though!!! Its all borrowed money. We really need to just print some money without borrowing it.
